As each week passes, I take a minute to think about where I was and what couple we were working with the previous year. This year, many of my comparisons have been based around the weather. I think I got one 100% dry weekend out of 26 weddings and this year, none of our events have been a complete washout. As fall creeps up on us, so does the blessing that is a Maine fall wedding. Brides & Grooms who have selected a fall wedding may be taking a chance on the weather more than other seasons, but the natural setting they find themselves surrounded by is a detail that money can’t buy. Last year, on September 12th, we had the distinct pleasure of working with the Fine’s. Adele & Joel approached us for their daughter Margot’s wedding in fall of 2008 and we spent the year planning a “locally harvested feast”. It was important for Margot & Jeff that all of the food came from Maine and luckily this is one of the best times of year for fall produce. Her parents were a particular favorite of mine to work with, because they knew what they wanted and were not afraid to ask for it. The result was a party that no one will soon forget. Happy Anniversary Margot & Jeff!

Margot & Jeff – Married September 12, 2009 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine at a Private Home – contact us for more info on the venue.

They had said they wanted a tent in a field by the Ocean and that is exactly what they found.

As Maine grows in popularity for destination weddings and family vacations, so do our requests for a “classic” Maine Lobster Bake (or Clam Bake). There are lots of great opportunities for anyone to host a lobster bake while staying in Maine, whether it is for a small family group that prefer to enjoy the convenience of dining at their rented summer Beach House, or the bride whose fiancée is from Maine, and wants to share the experience of cracking into a freshly steamed Maine Lobster with friends and family from ‘away’. We have catered lobster bakes in all styles for family parties, anniversaries, birthdays, rehearsal dinners and of course, for weddings. Whether it is a casual buffet for 40 or a seated dinner for 200, we always guarantee a hot lobster and plenty of drawn butter!

Welcome to Kitchen Chicks Catering. Our intentions with this blog are to post photos and information on our current events as they are happening, as well as provide helpful information to future clients. I plan to blog about our more recent 2009 wedding season. Fore more general information about our company, please visit our full site by clicking here.

Kitchen Chicks Catering is based out of Kennebunk, ME. We serve all of Southern Maine, southern New Hampshire and have traveled into Massachusetts for several events. We are off premise caterers, which allows us to handle a wide variety of events, such as private dinner parties, cocktail parties, private club events, weddings and corporate events.

To keep ourselves current and up to date with market trends, we attend the Catersource Conference & Tradeshow each spring. We feel it is important to stay on top of market trends in order to provide the best food and service to our clients.

Look for a new post soon featuring one of our 2009 events.
