Margot & Jeff – September 12, 2009
As each week passes, I take a minute to think about where I was and what couple we were working with the previous year. This year, many of my comparisons have been based around the weather. I think I got one 100% dry weekend out of 26 weddings and this year, none of our events have been a complete washout. As fall creeps up on us, so does the blessing that is a Maine fall wedding. Brides & Grooms who have selected a fall wedding may be taking a chance on the weather more than other seasons, but the natural setting they find themselves surrounded by is a detail that money can’t buy. Last year, on September 12th, we had the distinct pleasure of working with the Fine’s. Adele & Joel approached us for their daughter Margot’s wedding in fall of 2008 and we spent the year planning a “locally harvested feast”. It was important for Margot & Jeff that all of the food came from Maine and luckily this is one of the best times of year for fall produce. Her parents were a particular favorite of mine to work with, because they knew what they wanted and were not afraid to ask for it. The result was a party that no one will soon forget. Happy Anniversary Margot & Jeff!

Margot & Jeff selected a private home in Cape Elizabeth near Spurwink Farm for their event. They had said they wanted a tent in a field by the Ocean and that is exactly what they found.
It rained on and off all day. Margot & Jeff were headed to their rented cottage to take a few photos before the ceremony.
Margot & Jeff’s dog was a part of the ceremony and received her own flowers!
The ceremony was held inside the cottage because of the rain. Their dog didn’t stray to far…
Inside the tent, the crew at Sperry Tents hung silk Japanese Lanterns.
Stunning flower arrangements from Little River Flower Farm. All the flowers they use are grown in their own garden in Gorham, ME. They also grow strawberries year round that we used with the dessert buffet.
Because of the rain, cocktail hour had to be under the tent as well. The Toughcats treated guests to bluegrass music during cocktail hour. These guys really got the party started, guests started dancing the second they got into the tent.
Guests were treated to Seafood Cocktails during cocktail hour.

Our Signature “Grazing Station” with Local & Imported Artisan Cheeses and Crudites.
A little something for everyone!!
My favorite tradition at any Jewish wedding is the Hora! The Fine’s & Burnap’s really got into this tradition and had a great time with it. These pictures show you how much fun they all were to work with.
My ultimate goal at every wedding – a very happy father of the bride!
